Registered Name
is the goat name as registered with ADGA (American Dairy Goat Association). This name can be up to 30 characters in length. The first part of the name is referred to as the
Herd Name
. This can be a single or multiple words and is assigned to a particular ADGA member. Every goat registered by this member will be prefixed by their
Herd Name
.
While there are no fixed naming conventions, some people include a sire name or initials as part of the
Registered Name
followed by the actual goat's names.
Registered Names
must be unique within ADGA, no duplicates are allowed.
